The fifth edition of the Amazon International Fair (FIAM 2009 - Feira Internacional da Amazônia), to take place in Manaus, the capital of Amazonas State, from 25 to 28 November, 2009, is the largest display window of products, services, and business opportunities in the Brazilian Amazon.

The Fair, sponsored by the Superintendency of Manaus Free Trade Zone (SUFRAMA), an autarchic institution linked to the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC), is part of the Brazilian Government’s official event schedule, and is aimed at fostering economic, social, scientific and technological development, while coupled with sustainability proposals for the Amazon.

Besides exhibiting innovative products and services in areas such as the electro-electronic, informatics, and two-wheel industries, as well as environmental services, FIAM 2009 will also include several international seminars to discuss strategic regional issues, as well as business and tourism round-table sessions, a projects room, scientific exhibitions, technically-oriented visits, among other activities, meant for both investors and the general public.

Companies that produce in a sustainable way create a market differential. By carrying out environment-friendly and socially positive activities, they effectively contribute to regional socioeconomic growth on solid and enduring bases. In that sense, adequate business partners are to be found for such challenges.
