INTRODUCTION
The Amazon International Trade Fair has become an important event for the development of the Amazon Region. This is reflected in the wide repercussions of the events of a technical and scientific nature (International Seminars and Regional Exhibitions of Technical and Scientific Work supported by SUFRAMA), which have reached various publics, in the region, in Brazil and abroad.

The history of this event indicates that during all the earlier editions, the seminars were intensely associated to the Manaus Industrial Sector (PIM) and its surroundings, even if there were expectations of reflections on the region as a whole.

It is intended, without minimizing the PIM, that the focus of the seminars held during the fourth edition will reflect a wider commitment to the Amazon Region, in the sense that they will reflect on issues that are relevant and useful to the region as a whole, and not only the State of Amazonas. This approach is in line with SUFRAMA’S aim to expand and deepen its involvement in the agendas of the states that fall within its area of operation, thus fulfilling its role as a regional development agency. Consequently, the title theme of each seminar has been defined bearing in mind the possibility of presenting an opportunity for reflections that are applicable to the entire region, even though they may result from dynamics that only exist or are felt in Amazonas or the PIM.
