Amazônia S.A is the division of Agrale S/A motorcycles,
belonging to the Grupo Francisco Stedile, that includes
the companies Agrale and its subsidiaries (Agrale Amazônia
and Agrale Montadora), Lavrale, Finance Three Rivers,
Germani Alimentos and Agritech . By means of a technological
agreement with the Italian company Cagiva, Agrale is
the holder of the brands Husqvarna and MV-august, distributed
in Brazil. The industrial park of the company, composed
of modern equipment of last generation and European
technology is built in an area of 5.560 square meters,
where they manufacture motorcycles and scooters.

Caloi Norte has been
in the Industrial Pole of Manaus since 1975. The production
is geared towords bicycles with high technology, besides
the fitness line, formed by gymnastics units for indoor
practice, mobylettes and scooters. Positioned as a contemporary
company, Caloi is recognized as a top mark in bicycles
with a line of approximately 35 models, divided in:
children, mountain bike, walk and transport. In 1999
Caloi Norte was submitted to a restructuring process
and it moved on to industrialize bicycles type export,
being fundamental in the strategy of the group to increase
the participation in the external market. Caloi wants
to enlarge its exports by a fifth of the production
by 2006. Today, the main countries that import Caloi
are Uruguay, Paraguay and Colombia. Caloi also invests
in the employees' training through the work of a team

Moto Honda da Amazônia was the
first Honda factory in Brazil. Built in an area of
489.560 m2, in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, the
unit represents the second largest investment of Honda
outside Japan, in the two wheel sector. Therefore,
in the beginning of its activities, the factory won
fame with the production of its first model - CG 125,
leader in sales, from its entrance in the Brazilian
market. Symbol of freedom, economy and durability,
the motorcycle conquered the consumer, having overcome
in 2001, the record of 2 million marketed units. Moto
Honda holds about 88% of the market of two wheels.
Today, besides CG 125 Titan, the company produces
other ten models - C 100 BIZ, CG 125 Position, XLR
125, XR 200R, CBX 200 Strada, XR 250 Tornado, CBX

The Amazonian Partnership to Manufacture
Vehicles (Cofave), maker of Kasinski motorcycles,
a brand genuinely Brazilian which produces motorcycles,
scooters, autocycles and tricycles with a technology
that is well known world wide. Each year new products
of different technology are incorporated. Cofave produces
seven models now in PIM, being four scooters and three
of up to 125cc. One of the models is Custom, with
strong design. The company also manufactures Motokar
- a tricycle in three versions: Taxikar, Pick-Up and
Van. The factory of the Industrial Pole of Manaus
in three years grew from 2.500 m2 to more than 18.000
m2. The goal of Cofave in the Manaus Free Trade Zone
(ZFM) is to manufacture vehicles that occupy the space
that the great assemblers are not occupying in the
Country at this time. The conquest of the quality
certification ISO 9002, in less than two years of
activity in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM), the
continuous growth of the participation of the company
in the ranking of sales of the Brazilian Association
of the Makers of Motorcycles, Autocycles, Scooters
and Bicycles (Abraciclo), and the opening of a channel
of exports to Ecuador through Amazon River, is promoting

its activities in the Industrial Pole of Manaus in
1976. From importer and assembler, the Company of
Bicycles Monark S.A., became a maker of bicycles.
It modernized the facilities, brought a larger technology
to its production lines and improved its human resources.
The technology used in the production, initially,
Swedish is today, in almost its totality, developed
by Brazilian technicians and engineers. The result
is visible: acquisition of quality certificates, improvements

Holder of the exclusive rights for
the use of the name, production and commercialization
of the motorcycles Suzuki in Brazil, Amazon's Industry
J Toledo & Co. of Vehicles Ltd., has been in the
Industrial Pole of Manaus since 1992. The whole production
process begins with the arrival of its parts and pieces
from Japan to the factory in Manaus, through the process
CKD ( Complete Knock Down). J Toledo, under mandatory
of Suzuki Motor Corporation, joins the national component
and accessory motorcycles, assisting the obligatory
index of nationalization. Now the line of Suzuki motorcycles
J Toledo, has 26 models that assist all categories,
from the classic custom to the super sports, going
by dual purpose, street, cross, quad and scooter.
The company also offers a line of utility vehicles,
that are being acquired by public organs and deprived
companies of several cities all over the Country.
The company was recognized by the System of Warranty

Yamaha Motor da Amazonia began the
production in the Industrial Pole of Manaus in 1985.
The company manufactures motorcycles that goes from
the standard scooter of 50cc and 100 cc, to the custom
models of 600 cc, totaling 11 models, marketed mainly
in the areas South and Southeast of the country. The
company also produces the model YBR 125, exported
to countries in Latin America. In 2001 12 thousand
units were exported. The production capacity is of
100 thousand unity/year. Yamaha maintains, still,
a line of production of outdoor engine of 15 and 25
potency hp. Now, there are 200 Yamaha dealers in Brazil.
The Industry of Two Wheels of the Amazon
Ltd manufactures in the Industrial Pole of Manaus
since 1990 motorcycles, scooters and tricycles, besides
bicycles and non motorized tricycles. The company
also operates in the production, import and export
of parts and accessories of vehicles autocycles. Idra
is a continuity of Firm B. Fort Industry and Trade
Ltd. that, in 1968, installed the first factory of
autocycles in the Manaus Free Trade Zone and it introduced
the vespa in Brazil. The diversification project and
change of the legal name happened in 1990 and its
objective was to enlarge the company business in the
sector where it acts to supply part of the demand
of bicycles in the Country.

holder and maker of Sundown Bike, with 4 million units
marketed in just 7 years of existence, has become
the most sold bicycle in Latin America. A result that

Implanted in 1996 in the Industrial
Pole of Manaus, Denso Industrial of the Amazon Ltd.
produces air conditioning for buses, automotive compressor
, ignition for motorcycle and alternators for motorcycle.
Last year the company stopped manufacturing air conditioning
for automobiles due to a market lack. With 150 employees,
Denso has as big customers Moto Honda and Yamaha,
that buy parts for motorcycles. As part of the conglomerated
Denso Corporation of Japan, Manaus branch has today
a monthly revenue around R$ 7 million and its social
capital rotates in R $ 32 million. The company estimates
for the end of 2002 a revenue in the margin of R$
75 million and to manufacture more than 800 thousand
parts. With relationship to the input, 60% of the
components come from another Brazilian states and
the other 40% come from Thailand and Japan. With a
growth forecast Denso already has projects for the
future to manufacture a tension regulator in 2003,
but it is still not definite.

production of clutch systems for two wheels vehicles.
The company began its activities in the Industrial
Pole of Manaus in 1999 to supply the industries of
motorcycles installed in PIM, especially Moto Honda.
The production also supplies the market of the United
States. The company's goal is to reach the index of
80% of nationalization of input by 2004, period in
which will be invested about R$ 12 million in the
industry. The evolution of the group in PIM happened
in scale. It had a production of 200 thousand parts
produced in 1999 against 670 thousand in 2001. It
is goal of the company to arrive at 1 million clutches
in 2002.

The Japanese multinational Keihin Technology
of Brazil Ltd began its activities in the Industrial
Pole of Manaus in 2002, to produce carburetors for
two wheels vehicles and for general use. It is the
goal of the company to assist the two wheels pole
of Manaus and Grupo Honda's companies in the United
States. The company is part of the group of the Japanese
multinational Keihin Corporation (Japan), that holds
60% of the world market in the sector and it intends
to have a revenue around US$ 50 million in the factory
of Manaus. About 60% of the foreseen investments,
US$ 42 million, are already applied in the local unit.
The total area of Keihin is of 50 thousand square
meters, with 4.620 m2 built, at Avenida Torquato Tapajós
(North Zone of the city). The company generates 154
jobs in PIM and the goal is to have 220 employees.
