MOTO HONDA DA AMAZONIA

Moto Honda da Amazônia was the first Honda factory in Brazil. Built in an area of 489.560 m2, in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, the unit represents the second largest investment of Honda outside Japan, in the two wheel sector. Therefore, in the beginning of its activities, the factory won fame with the production of its first model - CG 125, leader in sales, from its entrance in the Brazilian market. Symbol of freedom, economy and durability, the motorcycle conquered the consumer, having overcome in 2001, the record of 2 million marketed units. Moto Honda holds about 88% of the market of two wheels.
Today, besides CG 125 Titan, the company produces other ten models - C 100 BIZ, CG 125 Position, XLR 125, XR 200R, CBX 200 Strada, XR 250 Tornado, CBX 250 Twister, NX4 Falcon, CB 500 and VT 600C Shadow. Moto Honda invests, permanently, in the acquisition of equipment of last generation and implementation of new sectors. Besides, as part of its philosophy, it promotes periodic training for its employees, seeking the recycling of knowledge and professional perfection.

KASINSKI

The Amazonian Partnership to Manufacture Vehicles (Cofave), maker of Kasinski motorcycles, a brand genuinely Brazilian which produces motorcycles, scooters, autocycles and tricycles with a technology that is well known world wide. Each year new products of different technology are incorporated. Cofave produces seven models now in PIM, being four scooters and three of up to 125cc. One of the models is Custom, with strong design. The company also manufactures Motokar - a tricycle in three versions: Taxikar, Pick-Up and Van. The factory of the Industrial Pole of Manaus in three years grew from 2.500 m2 to more than 18.000 m2. The goal of Cofave in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM) is to manufacture vehicles that occupy the space that the great assemblers are not occupying in the Country at this time. The conquest of the quality certification ISO 9002, in less than two years of activity in the Manaus Free Trade Zone (ZFM), the continuous growth of the participation of the company in the ranking of sales of the Brazilian Association of the Makers of Motorcycles, Autocycles, Scooters and Bicycles (Abraciclo), and the opening of a channel of exports to Ecuador through Amazon River, is promoting sales of Cofave in Brazil.

MONARK

Monark da Amazônia S.A. began its activities in the Industrial Pole of Manaus in 1976. From importer and assembler, the Company of Bicycles Monark S.A., became a maker of bicycles. It modernized the facilities, brought a larger technology to its production lines and improved its human resources. The technology used in the production, initially, Swedish is today, in almost its totality, developed by Brazilian technicians and engineers. The result is visible: acquisition of quality certificates, improvements in the work atmosphere, as well as products with larger safety, more modern, and that symbolizes tendencies in the market.

PRINCE BIKE

Prince Bike Norte manufactures in the Industrial Pole of Manaus a complete line of bicycles, with wheels size from 12' to 26', for children and adults. The monthly average production is of 20 thousand units, available in the national and international markets. The company has 150 employees distributed among the production area, administrative and management. The technology and raw material used are modern, which are, guarantees a final product of first quality.

SUZUKI DO BRASIL

Holder of the exclusive rights for the use of the name, production and commercialization of the motorcycles Suzuki in Brazil, Amazon's Industry J Toledo & Co. of Vehicles Ltd., has been in the Industrial Pole of Manaus since 1992. The whole production process begins with the arrival of its parts and pieces from Japan to the factory in Manaus, through the process CKD ( Complete Knock Down). J Toledo, under mandatory of Suzuki Motor Corporation, joins the national component and accessory motorcycles, assisting the obligatory index of nationalization. Now the line of Suzuki motorcycles J Toledo, has 26 models that assist all categories, from the classic custom to the super sports, going by dual purpose, street, cross, quad and scooter. The company also offers a line of utility vehicles, that are being acquired by public organs and deprived companies of several cities all over the Country. The company was recognized by the System of Warranty of Total Quality with the certification ISO 9002 for the assembly activities, import, commercialization and distribution of motorcycles and its subsets.

YAMAHA

Yamaha Motor da Amazonia began the production in the Industrial Pole of Manaus in 1985. The company manufactures motorcycles that goes from the standard scooter of 50cc and 100 cc, to the custom models of 600 cc, totaling 11 models, marketed mainly in the areas South and Southeast of the country. The company also produces the model YBR 125, exported to countries in Latin America. In 2001 12 thousand units were exported. The production capacity is of 100 thousand unity/year. Yamaha maintains, still, a line of production of outdoor engine of 15 and 25 potency hp. Now, there are 200 Yamaha dealers in Brazil.

DUAS RODAS DA AMAZÔNIA LTDA.

The Industry of Two Wheels of the Amazon Ltd manufactures in the Industrial Pole of Manaus since 1990 motorcycles, scooters and tricycles, besides bicycles and non motorized tricycles. The company also operates in the production, import and export of parts and accessories of vehicles autocycles. Idra is a continuity of Firm B. Fort Industry and Trade Ltd. that, in 1968, installed the first factory of autocycles in the Manaus Free Trade Zone and it introduced the vespa in Brazil. The diversification project and change of the legal name happened in 1990 and its objective was to enlarge the company business in the sector where it acts to supply part of the demand of bicycles in the Country.

CBB

The Brazilian Company of Bicycle (CBB), holder and maker of Sundown Bike, with 4 million units marketed in just 7 years of existence, has become the most sold bicycle in Latin America. A result that is fruit of a lot of research, technology and quality, present in more than 10.000 point-of-sales in Brazil. The company also manufactures in the Industrial Pole of Manaus the mark Fitness and MagnaBike, with the same technology and quality used in Sundown Bike production. Since January of 2002 CBB entered in the segment of motorized two wheels vehicles, disputing the makers' of motorcycles of Brazil’s market. The new factory of the Industrial Pole of Manaus produces motorcycles of 100 cylinder capacity (Web Sundown) and scooters of 50 cylinder capacity (Fifty Sundown) to assist the national market.

HARLEY DAVIDSON DO BRASIL LTDA

Brazil's Harley Davidson Ltd is a company of the Harley-Davidson Holding Co. Inc. and Harley-Davidson Motor Company Group Inc., and produces motorcycles in the Industrial Pole of Manaus ,PIM, since 1999. The factory of the Industrial Pole of Manaus, PIM, is part of the strategy of the group to increase its participation in the Brazilian market. The motorcycles manufactured in Manaus go through exhaustive tests of quality in order to assist the international pattern of the group. The line of products of the Harley-Davidson of Brazil Ltd, is constituted of the following models: Fat Boy, Heritage Classic, Standard Custom, and Night Train.

ASAP

ASAP Cycle Components is an industry of the two wheel sector, of the Industrial Pole of Manaus, created in 1995, to supply the bicycles manufacturing companies, installed in PIM. Specialized in components for two wheels vehicle, ASAP produces frames for bicycles, cube of the wheel, free wheels, pedals with wheel for bicycle, threaded wheels, spokes for bicycle wheel and shock for bicycle. Manufactured with precise technology, the products of ASAP stand out for the high quality, elevating this way, the participation of the company in the internal market.

DENSO

Implanted in 1996 in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, Denso Industrial of the Amazon Ltd. produces air conditioning for buses, automotive compressor , ignition for motorcycle and alternators for motorcycle. Last year the company stopped manufacturing air conditioning for automobiles due to a market lack. With 150 employees, Denso has as big customers Moto Honda and Yamaha, that buy parts for motorcycles. As part of the conglomerated Denso Corporation of Japan, Manaus branch has today a monthly revenue around R$ 7 million and its social capital rotates in R $ 32 million. The company estimates for the end of 2002 a revenue in the margin of R$ 75 million and to manufacture more than 800 thousand parts. With relationship to the input, 60% of the components come from another Brazilian states and the other 40% come from Thailand and Japan. With a growth forecast Denso already has projects for the future to manufacture a tension regulator in 2003, but it is still not definite.

FCC

FCC of Brazil is a world leader in production of clutch systems for two wheels vehicles. The company began its activities in the Industrial Pole of Manaus in 1999 to supply the industries of motorcycles installed in PIM, especially Moto Honda. The production also supplies the market of the United States. The company's goal is to reach the index of 80% of nationalization of input by 2004, period in which will be invested about R$ 12 million in the industry. The evolution of the group in PIM happened in scale. It had a production of 200 thousand parts produced in 1999 against 670 thousand in 2001. It is goal of the company to arrive at 1 million clutches in 2002.

Honda

Located in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, Honda Componentes da Amazônia Ltda., is part of the Grupo Honda and it manufactures components for motorcycles, such as: exhaust, steering wheel, hubcaps and seats. It is located in the same industrial park as Moto Honda , participating, in the same way, of all the activities directed towards quality and the environment that its matrix develops.

Keihin

The Japanese multinational Keihin Technology of Brazil Ltd began its activities in the Industrial Pole of Manaus in 2002, to produce carburetors for two wheels vehicles and for general use. It is the goal of the company to assist the two wheels pole of Manaus and Grupo Honda's companies in the United States. The company is part of the group of the Japanese multinational Keihin Corporation (Japan), that holds 60% of the world market in the sector and it intends to have a revenue around US$ 50 million in the factory of Manaus. About 60% of the foreseen investments, US$ 42 million, are already applied in the local unit. The total area of Keihin is of 50 thousand square meters, with 4.620 m2 built, at Avenida Torquato Tapajós (North Zone of the city). The company generates 154 jobs in PIM and the goal is to have 220 employees.

Metalfino

Metalúrgica Metalfino da Amazônia Ltda. began its activities in the Industrial Pole of Manaus in 1985. The company manufactures components of aluminum injected for the two wheel pole industry. Using Japanese technology, the company works with no-ferrous leagues of components in the strategic area of Metalfino: injection pieces of aluminum under pressure and lead foundry. Metalfino generates 355 direct and indirect jobs in PIM

Nissin

Nissin Brake do Brasil is a Japanese multinational specialized in the production and development of brake systems for vehicles of two/four wheels, being included among the main products, the ABS (Anti-lock Brake System). The company has been in the Industrial Pole of Manaus since 1997, manufacturing parts for brake systems, such as: Caliper, Master Cylinder , brake Panel, Brake disk and Flange of Wheel. Nissin products are manufactured with high technology, and its components are used on modern equipment from last generation, in a way to guarantee the necessary reliability of its application. In 2001, the company reached a high index of nationalization of special parts for the production of the systems of brakes and clutches, reducing the costs.

Showa

Showa do Brasil Ltda began its activity in the Industrial Pole of Manaus in 1981 to assist the demand of the Brazilian two wheels industry. The company applies in Manaus Showa CO'S the same technology as in Japan, for production of special shocks for motorcycles, replacement parts for shocks and motorcycles, cylinder shock for vehicle of two wheels, column of the shock, carcass of the shock, superior and inferior table for vehicle of two wheels and column tube. The main customers of Showa of Brazil are Moto Honda and Yamaha. Showa of Brazil has 600 employees in PIM.

Sodécia

The Industry of Accessories and Metallic Components of Amazon Ltd. (IACM of Amazônia), now, denominated Sodécia of the Amazon Ltd. Iis a company belonging to the Portuguese group, Sodecia, wordlyrecognized, in the automobile industry, and it integrates several companies, in different countries as main activity, the production of components for the industry of two wheels and four wheels vehicles. The company has been in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, since 1998, with the performance glared toward to the production of back fork, handle bars, central easel, handle bars support, pedals and other components for the industries of two wheels, installed in PIM, mainly, Moto Honda of Amazônia. Sodécia of the Amazon manufactures products of high complexity, using technology globally known.
