the Industrial Pole of Manaus S/A., since 1997, Aços
da Amazonia plans to enter the rust-proof steel with
the objective to increase its competitive rate. The
company in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, is a branch
of Armco group from São Paulo. The main product
of the company is steel lamination supplied to several
companies in the industrial pole, such as Ifer da Amazônia,
Electrolux, Dantec, Brastemp, Metalúrgica CF,
CCE Componentes, FCC, Metalúrgica Sato, among
others. With national technology, the company produces,
monthly, 607 thousand tons of steel lamination which
generate monthly incomes of about U$ 1 million.

1994, only in the year 2000, Barraferro began to operate
as an industry in the Industrial Pole of Manaus. The
company produces metal structures that supply the
north region market, using as raw material: plates,
beams, and general metallurgy materials imported from
the southeast region of the country. At Barraferro
industrial area, there are 35 workers, and 50 people
are employed by two commercial shops. Barraferro's
major customers are: Carboquímica and Via Extra,
among others.

With the expansion of PIM it started to manufacture
metallic structures, industrial cars, assembly lines,
devices in general. In the eighties it addressed its
activities in the production of Metallic Components
for Industrial sewing machine assisting the national
market through the companies Pancostura of Amazônia,
Rimoldi of Amazônia, Industrial Elgin among
others. It developed together with Moto Honda of Amazônia
and Yamaha Motor of Amazônia, supports type
metallic packing used in the boxes of motorcycle packing,
as well as metallic boxes for motorcycles type export.
In the nineties it was created a line of pieces of
furniture of steel and school pieces of furniture,
seeking a new direction in the company's view, but
continuing with the initial services of the company.

C.F. da Amazônia is installed in an area of
9.000 m2, of which 2.000 m2 are built and where it
operates with modern and efficient equipment, that
guarantees the productivity and the quality of the
final product. Now, the company generates 30 jobs
in PIM.
Metalurgica Magalhaes is a company
with a 100% local funds, that has been in Manaus since
1978, period in which accumulated great technical
knowledge in manufacture and assembly of conventional
metallic structures, tanks, and other metallic types
of products or components, that require process of
manufacture of cut, fold, drilling and weld. In the
last years, the company invested massively in modernization
of machines and equipment, physical installation and,
mainly in the specialization of man power, raising
the index of quality of its products and services.

Metalúrgica Marlin S/A. has
operated in the metal sector in the Industrial Pole
of Manaus, since 1988. Its productive process aims
at the industrialization of galvanized roofing tiles
in zinc and aluminum in many specifications, the production
of iron alloys for construction of diverse measures,
metallic sheets and matrixes, iron beams, bars and
so forth. It has branches in the cities of Porto Velho,
state of Rondonia, and in the city of Belem, state
of Pará.

produces case for microwave oven, chassis for computers,
chassis for stereo systems and DVD. Metalúrgica
Sato's main customers are LG, Gradient and Thomson.
The company uses technology and national raw material,
and it is investing R$ 2 million in the acquisition
of new equipment, to assist a larger variety of customers.
This growth in production should increase the annual
revenue of the company from R$ 600 thousand to R$
1 million. Metalúrgica Sato generates 80 jobs
