of the same name brand products. The company manufactures

in general. Worried with the environment, the company
counts with trained labor, and own technology for the
production of wax, detergent, clothes softener, alcohol,
remover and disinfectant.
Ipes Industry of Welding Products and
Equipment Ltda., began its activities in the Industrial
Pole of Manaus in 1980. Installed in an area of 157.000
m2, of which 3 thousand m2 are built in the Industrial
District, the company manufactures welding equipment
and industrial gases, destined industries of different
sectors. Ipes has a modern industrial park, equipped
with point machinery, which guarantees the quality
of the products, manufactured with first line technology.

Intermef (Integration Medical-Hospital
and Pharmaceutical Ltda.), is a company installed
in Manaus that has as main objective: purchase, sale,
production and distribution of medications and medical-hospital
products, in Brazil and outside
Brazil. Counting with a team made of qualified technicians
and equipped with high technology systems, Intermef
is installed in an area of 2.400 m² and has available
generic products, offices, medical-hospital materials,
among others as guaraná and honey. The quality
control of these products is made by following rigorous
patterns and obeying norms established by the Secretary
of Sanitary Surveillance. Intermef's production is
divided in production of semi-solids, solids, liquids
and sanitary products.
Hisamitsu Pharmaceutical of Manaus
Ltda, began its activities in the Industrial Pole
of Manaus, in 2002. The main products manufactured
by the company are: plaster, liniment, aerosol and
" spray " of Salompas brand, analgesic of
great acceptance and commercial success. All those
medications are original of the oriental millenary
medicine. Hisamitsu has 20 employees, that receive
periodic training in the pharmaceutical area, to operate
with the products of Japanese technology. The manufactured
Hisamitsu products, in Manaus, begins to be distributed
in the national market in 2002.
Pioneer in the Industrial Pole of Manaus,
Amazon Ervas began operation in 1986, as a cooperative
sector of the Homeopatia da Amazônia Farmácia
e Laboratório. The company has a line of 150
products in the field of phyto therapy. AmazonErvas
has, as principle, the quality of its goods. A forest
engineer takes care of all the keeping up procedures
for the promotion of suppliers of materials and, he
hires consulting personal too, to evaluate the productive
capacity at a given location to avoid environmental
damages. The company hires 75 people, working at the
plant in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, and keeps
a technical team, comprising of biologists, professional
from pharmacy, working in the research of new products
and on quality control. Now, that it has a consolidated
position at the north and northeast regions, the company
prepares to enter into the south and southwest of
the country, and overseas for exports.

Crodamazon is a company belonging to
the British group Croda, and was implanted in 2001
in the Industrial Pole of Manaus, with the objective
to study, research, develop, and process products
and by products from the Amazon flora. Presently,
the company keeps up trading in the market with six
regional products based on raw material from maracujá,
cupuaçu, Brazil nuts, piquiá and buriti.
In the near future, there are in its project the production
of solutions based on andiroba, babaçu and
copaíba extracts. Its present productive capacity
is about 30 tons per month, and the oil used in Amazonas
is sent to the Brazilian headquarters of Croda do
Brasil, in Campinas (SP), final processing. Croda
group has been in the country for 25 years. The extraction
of fixing vegetal oil is processed with equipment
developed specially to attend the needs of Crodamazon
which owns technology for extraction and purity both
developed by its experts regionally. In order to comply
with the present quality standards requirements, the
company has been working with Instituto de Manejo
e Certificação Florestal (Imaflora),
representatives of National Forest Stwardeship Council
(FSC).

Alfatec Indústria e Comércio
Ltda, has been operating in the Industrial Pole of
Manaus since 1990 with a production line of: weld
production, chemical products for welding of electronic
components, laminated plastics in polyethylene, sacks
and sheets of polyethylene. Certified in the norms
of ISO 9002, the company is highly qualified to assist
the industries installed in PIM, besides other similar
sectors. The company counts with a modern technology
and a team of professionals qualified in several technical
areas of support to projection, development and production.
Alfatec generates 40 direct and 12 indirect jobs at
PIM.
Established in the Industrial Pole
of Manaus, Chemical Mikrotoner of the Amazon was the
first company to produce toner, developers and other
input for copiers and laser printers, with imported
raw material, following the international quality
standards, under RAVEN Inc.'s control, in the USA.
The production line is of toners, developers, reel
of paper for fax, and photoreceptor of aluminum without
selenium film. In PIM, since 1982, Mikrotoner is a
quality company, where all its routine in the production
of its products is supervised, and it has the quality
certificate ISO 9002. The Mikrotoner's products can
be found in packaging with equipment brand name, since
Mikrotoner supplies the O&M Market. The company
generates 20 jobs in PIM.

also, known as "Mystères d'Amazonie",
produces perfumes and sachês, in packages ,
ecologically correct items, and exports its products
to the United States, Italy and Caribbean Countries.
Essencial has a line of products for perfume shops,
using rasps, seeds, leaves, wooden residuals, resins,
and other natural products from the Amazon forest.

Silibrás Silicones da Amazônia
Ltda, began activities in the Industrial Pole of
Manaus, in September 1988, producing only silicon
technical parts. Present lines of production have
the following items, among others also very important:
fly back sets, fly back parts for remote controls,
silicon parts like covers and general silicon parts
for ignition sparks, and parts for household goods,
and many silicon parts for a wide range of industrial
means. The facilities of the company have international
standard , being the division of extrusion in operation
in a refrigerated environment in order to produce
goods for the demanding markets associated with
Medical Hospital sectors, where hygiene and cleaning
can be very rigorous . Silibrás employs 38
people, has technician staff highly specialized
around critical points in the process. The productive

has been in the Industrial Pole of Manaus for
eight years and supplies all of the State of Amazonas,
Roraima, and part of Acre and Pará. The
company manufactures bleach, paraffin candle,
powdered soap, detergent and Ruby wax. Velas Ruby's
Industry is the main company of this sector at
PIM, where it has 25 employees, besides the temporary
ones during the months of larger production. The
paraffin, raw material used in the production
of Ruby candles, main product of the company,
is imported from Camaçari (BA). The other
input is acquired in Amazonas. The technology
is its own.
Rioquímica Indústria
Química Ltda. began its activities in Manaus,
in 1989, in an area of the industry concerning
the commerce of soaps and detergents. It has used
its own technology, the company produces detergents
for domestic, industrial and automotive use, and
many other household products. The company capital
is 100% held by entrepreneurs from Amazonas, and
hires only for local labors only for its productive
process. All the raw materials used in the production
comes from Brazil.
Pronatus is genuinely an amazonian
company, geared towards the use of the amazon
flora in the production of natural products in
the forms of medications and cosmetics, starting
from research, collection and production, until

Nitron da Amazônia Industria
& Comercio has been in the Industrial
Pole of Manaus since 1994, operating in the
areas of industry, medicinal gases, hospitals
and laboratories. The year 2001 was considered
as a jump, in production terms for the company.
The reason was the acquisition of a new machine
(plant), that multiplied by ten the capacity
of production of Nitron, which started to
generate 7.2 thousand cubic meters daily.
The company also, elaborates and executes
the installation of projects and distribution
of gases to hospitals, factories, shipyards
and industries, besides already performing
maintenance services, revision and restoration
in networks already installed. With its own
fleet of trucks, the company transports its
products to Manaus and the main cities of
the interior of the State. The company has
a branch in Porto Velho (RO) and it distributes
its products to the States of Pará,
Roraima, Mato Grosso, Goiás, Minas
Gerais and São Paulo. By the year 2003,
Nitron plans to cover all of the national
